-Who is the person you designated as an idol?
“To be honest, I don’t have an idol. I am learning a lot of things from different coaches. For me, the key is having a philosophy that belongs to you and reflects you. I don’t want to focus on the things that prior Fenerbahce coaches or NBA coaches have done. Of course, I love watching basketball and learning from different coaches. But my philosophy never changes. I trust the people around me. My idols are the people I work with. My team. They work for countless hours and this means a lot to me. They push me to be better every day. They are my true idols. And my players of course.”

-Your favorite TV series?
“I started watching tv series during the pandemic. My favorite, like everyone else, is Breaking Bad. I haven’t watched it before and it was amazing. Every small details were well thought. We are watching “This Is Us” with my wife. And I also have been watching a lot of cartoons because of my four years old twins. We always play with superheroes and watch cartoons.”
-Your favorite Turkish food?
“Baklava, baklava, baklava. Adana Kebap as well. But baklava is really something else. I love walking in the streets of Kadikoy, drink tea, and eat baklava. I also love crossing the Bosphorus to go to Besiktas. I always talk about Istanbul and Turkey to my friends. I know Istanbul and people here. It’s an amazing place. I am really happy here. The food, people, atmosphere… Unbelievable. I always tell my friends to come to Istanbul because it’s an amazing place to live. And yes my answer is baklava.”
-Your favorite book?
“It’s a Spanish book and I don’t know the translated versions but if I do a direct translation it’s called Black Wolf. I also like “Rose’s name” from Umberto Eco. I read Katherine Neville’s Eight books in Turkey. That was also great. But my favorite is Rose’s name.
