If EuroLeague is played in a bubble concept…
I don’t know. I think there should be a variety of plans for it.
What would be the advantages and disadvantages of your point of view?
Well… If you compare the situation to normal times, it is a disadvantage. However, if you compare it to the months like March, April when there was zero entertainment, it is an advantage. It all depends on your expectations and your starting point.
You are a passionate coach, and you enjoy playing with passionate fans. However, this season there won’t be any fans, or there will be in small numbers in the arenas. Do you think this situation will have an impact on the strength of the teams?
I thought about this. I’ll make you an example: the NBA decided on a bubble. When it started, everyone was saying “it’s not the same thing”, “playing without fans, it’s not good”. All true. But now, in the playoffs, every game is better than the previous one. You need to know that life has changed. COVID-19 has changed the existence of billions of people. So, I prefer to play without the fans than not to play at all.
If you ask me what I would like, I would like to have 20,000 fans in every match. Can I have them? No. But by saying “no, better do nothing”, you mean “surrender”, you mean “withdraw”, you mean “don’t fight”. In my opinion, it’s already a good thing if we try to start over. The fans will watch us on TV, and then, we will slowly return to normal. The human race has experienced moments like this before.
I can’t stand concentration errors
As I said earlier, you are a passionate coach. You show your emotions to your reactions during the games. What particular situations during a game drive you crazy?
I can’t stand concentration errors. So, I’m not very good at that those moments but I’m working on it. I also can’t stand when a player thinks of himself first, not the team. Those two things make me freak out.
